What You'll Need
Professional installation strongly recommended. Requires a custom tune, upgraded fuel injectors (52lb+), and upgraded spark plugs. High-boost setups (12+ PSI) need forged engine internals.

Why Install This?
Benefits
- Major power gains — one of the highest-impact upgrades you can make
- Forced induction delivers massive power across the entire RPM range
- Transforms the character of the car — significantly faster acceleration
Things to Know
- Requires supporting mods (fuel system, tune) for safe operation
- May affect warranty if not dealer-installed
- Professional installation recommended — requires specialty tools or expertise
What Does This Do?
The Whipple Gen 5 is a twin-screw (roots-type) supercharger that sits on top of the engine. Unlike the centrifugal ProCharger that builds boost gradually with RPM, the Whipple delivers instant boost from idle — mash the gas at 1,500 RPM and you get immediate, face-flattening torque. Benefits: 150-200+ HP gain, instant throttle response (no boost lag), the intercooled design keeps intake temps low for consistent power, and it looks factory-installed sitting in the engine valley. Trade-offs: the Gen 5 runs about $7,000-8,000 for the complete kit — the most expensive bolt-on you can buy. It generates significant underhood heat (roots blowers compress air in the manifold, which creates heat). Installation is complex (12-20 hours). A tune is absolutely mandatory, and you should upgrade fuel injectors and fuel pump before running boost. The Whipple makes the most raw torque of any supercharger option, but it also puts the most stress on your engine internals. Make sure your engine is healthy before adding 10+ PSI of boost.
Required Supporting Parts
This supercharger kit requires additional parts for safe installation. Installing without these can cause serious engine damage.
A custom ECU tune is REQUIRED for any supercharger installation. The factory tune cannot manage boost, and running a supercharger on a stock tune will cause dangerous lean conditions and likely engine damage.
Supercharger 'Tuner Kit' purchases REQUIRE upgraded fuel injectors. Complete kits include injectors. Without enough fuel flow, the engine will run dangerously lean under boost, causing detonation and catastrophic engine damage. Verify your kit type before proceeding.
A fuel pump upgrade is strongly recommended for supercharged builds. The stock pump may not supply enough fuel volume at high RPM under boost. This is critical for engine safety — fuel starvation under boost destroys engines.
Cooling upgrades (radiator, thermostat) are strongly recommended with a supercharger. Forced induction dramatically increases heat — the stock cooling system may not keep up, especially in hot weather or traffic.
Colder spark plugs are recommended with a supercharger. Higher combustion temperatures under boost can cause pre-ignition with stock-heat-range plugs.
Fitment Notes
Fits 6.4L Scat Pack/SRT 392. Also available for 5.7L and 6.2L (different kits). Check model year compatibility.
Tune Required
This part requires an ECU tune to function correctly. Without a tune, the engine computer won't adjust for the new part, potentially causing poor performance, check engine lights, or engine damage.
