What Does This Do?
HP Tuners is the professional-grade tuning platform used by most HEMI custom tuning shops. Unlike the DiabloSport devices that come with pre-loaded tunes, HP Tuners is just the hardware — you need custom tune files from a tuner. Benefits: the most flexible and powerful tuning platform available, supports data logging for professional diagnostics, works with virtually every HEMI modification. Trade-offs: HP Tuners uses a credit-based licensing system — you buy 'credits' ($50-100 each) that lock the device to specific vehicles. Each vehicle costs 2-8 credits. The MPVI3 kit does NOT include credits (sold separately). You also need a professional tuner to write your tune files ($300-500 typically). Total cost: device ($700) + credits ($100-400) + tune ($300-500) = $1,100-1,600. This is for serious builders who want the absolute best tune. For a simple bolt-on intake/exhaust setup, the DiabloSport devices are much simpler and cheaper.
