Why Install This?
Benefits
- More reliable combustion under high load and boost
- Longer service life compared to stock plugs, especially with forced induction
- Easy bolt-on installation — most people can do this in their driveway with basic tools
What Does This Do?
Spark plugs create the spark that ignites the air-fuel mixture in each cylinder. Iridium plugs have a much finer tip than standard plugs, which concentrates the spark energy for more complete combustion. Benefits: smoother idle, slightly better throttle response, and much longer life than copper plugs (60,000+ miles vs 30,000 for copper). The fine-wire tip also resists fouling better on rich-running modified engines. Trade-offs: these are a maintenance item, not a power adder — if your stock plugs are in good condition, you won't feel a difference. They matter most on modified engines where combustion demands are higher. For supercharged or high-compression builds, many tuners actually recommend copper plugs instead (they dissipate heat faster). Gap your plugs to your tuner's spec, not the box — forced induction engines typically need a tighter gap.
