What Does This Do?

A 'big brake kit' replaces your stock rotors and calipers with much larger ones. More rotor surface area = more friction = shorter stopping distances. The Brembo GT-S uses 6-piston monoblock calipers (machined from a single piece of aluminum for maximum rigidity) and massive 380mm (15-inch) two-piece floating rotors. Benefits: dramatically shorter stopping distances, virtually no brake fade even under track abuse, the floating rotor design prevents warping, and the bright red Brembo calipers look stunning behind the wheels. Trade-offs: at $4,000+, this is the most expensive brake upgrade available. Requires 20-inch minimum wheels (won't fit behind 18" or 19"). The larger rotors add weight to each corner (unsprung weight), which slightly hurts acceleration and ride quality. Pad replacements are more expensive than stock. For street driving with occasional track days, the StopTech ST-40 at half the price is a better value. The Brembo kit is for dedicated track cars and owners who want the absolute best.
