What Does This Do?
Shorty headers are a compromise between stock manifolds and long tube headers. They still use individual tubes per cylinder for improved flow, but the shorter length means they bolt up to the factory mid-pipe without modifications. Benefits: 12-18 HP gain with a tune, much easier install than long tubes (4-6 hours), and the ceramic coating keeps underhood temps lower. They work well with stock or aftermarket cat-back exhausts. Trade-offs: less power than long tubes because the shorter tubes produce less scavenging effect. The ceramic coating can chip over time. On the HEMI, the passenger-side header can be tricky to install due to steering shaft clearance. Still a great mod if you want header power without the commitment of a full long tube setup. Pair with a tune for best results — without a tune you'll gain maybe 5-8 HP instead of the full 15-18.
Required Supporting Parts
This header requires additional parts for safe installation. Installing without these can cause serious engine damage.
Long tube headers require matching aftermarket mid-pipes — factory mid-pipes will NOT bolt up because the collector flange sits in a different position. Shorty headers ARE compatible with factory mid-pipes. Check your header type before ordering.
A tune is strongly recommended with headers. Without it, the engine can't optimize fuel delivery for the improved exhaust flow, leaving significant power on the table.
Tune Required
This part requires an ECU tune to function correctly. Without a tune, the engine computer won't adjust for the new part, potentially causing poor performance, check engine lights, or engine damage.

Compatibility Conflicts
