What Does This Do?
aFe's Twisted Steel shorties are CNC-mandrel bent from 304 stainless steel for smooth exhaust flow. The 1-3/4" primary tubes are sized perfectly for the 6.4L HEMI, and the merge collector design helps scavenge exhaust pulses. Benefits: significant power gains with a tune (15-20 HP), much easier install than long tube headers (4-6 hours vs 10-16), and they bolt directly to the factory mid-pipe with no modifications. The stainless construction resists corrosion and heat discoloration. Trade-offs: less power potential than long tubes (which use equal-length runners for better scavenging). Still require a tune for best results and to clear CEL codes. aFe offers optional titanium ceramic coating for better heat management at additional cost. For the 6.4L, these are an excellent middle-ground between stock manifolds and the commitment of long tube headers.
Required Supporting Parts
This header requires additional parts for safe installation. Installing without these can cause serious engine damage.
Long tube headers require matching aftermarket mid-pipes — factory mid-pipes will NOT bolt up because the collector flange sits in a different position. Shorty headers ARE compatible with factory mid-pipes. Check your header type before ordering.
A tune is strongly recommended with headers. Without it, the engine can't optimize fuel delivery for the improved exhaust flow, leaving significant power on the table.

Tune Required
This part requires an ECU tune to function correctly. Without a tune, the engine computer won't adjust for the new part, potentially causing poor performance, check engine lights, or engine damage.
