What Does This Do?
BBK's shorty headers are the practical choice for HEMI owners who want header gains without the complexity of long tubes. 'Shorty' means the primary tubes are shorter and the collectors end where the factory manifolds do — so they bolt directly to your existing mid-pipes and cat-back exhaust. No matching mid-pipe purchase needed. The 1-5/8" primaries are a good size for the 5.7L and work well on the 6.4L too. You'll see about half the HP gains of long tubes (15-20 HP vs 25-40 HP), but the install is easier and you maintain more flexibility with your exhaust setup. Still requires a tune for full benefit.
Required Supporting Parts
This header requires additional parts for safe installation. Installing without these can cause serious engine damage.
Long tube headers require matching aftermarket mid-pipes — factory mid-pipes will NOT bolt up because the collector flange sits in a different position. Shorty headers ARE compatible with factory mid-pipes. Check your header type before ordering.
A tune is strongly recommended with headers. Without it, the engine can't optimize fuel delivery for the improved exhaust flow, leaving significant power on the table.
