Why Install This?
Benefits
- Better heat dissipation means more consistent braking under repeated hard stops
- Slotted/drilled rotors help gas escape for better wet-weather performance
- Easy bolt-on installation — most people can do this in their driveway with basic tools
What Does This Do?
These rotors have cross-drilled holes and machined slots cut into the friction surface. The slots sweep pad debris and gas away from the friction surface for consistent bite. The holes improve cooling by allowing hot gases to escape. Benefits: better heat dissipation than plain rotors means less brake fade during spirited driving, the zinc plating prevents the ugly rust that forms on bare iron rotors (especially in humid climates), and they look much more aggressive behind open-spoke wheels. Direct OEM replacement — bolt-on with no modifications. Trade-offs: cross-drilled rotors can develop stress cracks around the holes over time, especially under repeated hard track use. If you plan to track the car heavily, slot-only rotors are more durable. Drilled+slotted rotors are ideal for aggressive street driving with occasional track days. They also wear brake pads slightly faster than plain rotors. For daily driving, these are a great upgrade — better performance, better looks, and the zinc coating means no more rusty rotors after a rainy week.
