What Does This Do?
EBC's HPS 5.0 rear pads use a Kevlar fiber compound for excellent stopping power with minimal noise and dust. The 'Brake-In' coating means they work at full effectiveness right out of the box — no bed-in procedure required. Benefits: matched friction coefficient with the front HPS 5.0 pads for balanced braking, Kevlar fibers provide strong stopping without aggressive rotor wear, and the immediate effectiveness eliminates the risk of a scary first stop with new pads. Trade-offs: like all rear pad upgrades, this is a lower priority than front pads. The rear brakes do less work, so the improvement is less noticeable than upgrading fronts. These make the most sense when you're already upgrading front pads to EBC or Hawk and want a matched set. The HPS 5.0 compound produces slightly more dust than Power Stop Z26 pads but provides better high-temperature performance.
