Why Install This?
Benefits
- Better heat dissipation means more consistent braking under repeated hard stops
- Slotted/drilled rotors help gas escape for better wet-weather performance
- Easy bolt-on installation — most people can do this in their driveway with basic tools
What Does This Do?
EBC's GD sport rotors combine dimples (shallow blind holes that won't crack through like drilled holes) and slots for a unique approach to rotor cooling and pad management. Benefits: the dimples create turbulence in the airflow between the pad and rotor, cooling both surfaces. Unlike drilled holes, dimples don't create stress risers that can crack — this makes them more durable for track use than traditional drilled rotors. The wide-aperture slots sweep gas and debris efficiently. Direct OEM replacement. Trade-offs: the dimple pattern is less aggressive at gas venting than full cross-drilled holes (but much more durable). These are a niche choice — most buyers will be happy with either pure slotted (Power Stop, StopTech) or drilled+slotted (StopTech Sport) rotors. The EBC GD series is best for drivers who want better-than-slotted cooling without the cracking risk of drilled holes.
