What Does This Do?

The Airaid MXP is a direct competitor to the K&N Typhoon, but with one key difference: it uses a dry SynthaMax filter instead of an oiled cotton one. Benefits: no oiling means zero risk of MAF sensor contamination (a common complaint with oiled filters), and the filter is still washable/reusable. The CNC-machined MAF adapter ensures accurate airflow readings — important because a bad MAF signal causes rough idle and poor fuel economy. Gains of 15 HP are well-documented on the 6.4L. Trade-offs: dry filters don't flow quite as much air as oiled filters at the very top end, but the difference is negligible for most builds. The included heat shield blocks hot engine bay air. If you're choosing between K&N and Airaid, it comes down to oiled (slightly more flow) vs dry (zero maintenance headaches). For a daily driver, the dry filter wins.
