Air Intake Path
Smoother, less restricted airflow lets the engine breathe better. Most beginner builds start here — it's cheap, audible, and visible.

  High-flow elements (cotton, dry foam) flow more air than paper at the same level of filtration.
  Tradeoff: Oiled cotton elements need cleaning and re-oiling — over-oiling can foul the MAF sensor.

Bigger cams with stronger springs let the engine breathe longer per revolution, which is the foundation of any serious naturally-aspirated power gain.

  Bigger cams unlock 30-80+ horsepower on a HEMI when paired with the supporting hardware. Defines the lopey idle of a built car.
  Tradeoff: Hard requirement: non-MDS lifters, valve springs, pushrods, MDS-delete plugs, and a custom tune. Skipping any of these damages the engine.
