Why Install This?

Benefits

  • Incremental gains that stack well with other bolt-on mods
  • More reliable combustion under high load and boost
  • Longer service life compared to stock plugs, especially with forced induction
  • Easy bolt-on installation — most people can do this in their driveway with basic tools

What Does This Do?

The HEMI engine uses a dual-plug design — two spark plugs per cylinder, 16 total. Each plug has its own ignition coil sitting on top of it (coil-on-plug design). MSD's Blaster HVC coils deliver up to 15% more spark energy than stock, which means more complete combustion of the air-fuel mixture. On a stock engine, the difference is subtle — smoother idle, slightly better throttle response. But on a modified engine with higher compression, aggressive cam timing, or boost, the stronger spark becomes genuinely important for preventing misfires. The 16-pack replaces all coils on the engine.

Fitment Notes

Fits 2011-2023 Challenger 5.7L and 6.4L HEMI (dual-plug).
