Why Install This?
Benefits
- Higher friction compound for shorter stops and better pedal feel
- Easy bolt-on installation — most people can do this in their driveway with basic tools
Things to Know
- Aggressive track pads may squeal more on the street and wear rotors faster
What Does This Do?
EBC Yellowstuff pads are designed for high-temperature track use. They have a progressive bite that increases as they heat up — the opposite of stock pads which fade when hot. Benefits: incredible stopping power at track temperatures (600-1200°F), the compound actually works better the harder you push it, and they still function at street temperatures (unlike full-race pads). Low initial bite means the transition from street to track is smooth. Trade-offs: at street temperatures, they don't bite as hard as the Hawk HPS 5.0 — cold morning stops will feel slightly less responsive until the pads warm up. They produce more brake dust than street-focused pads (your wheels will get dirty). They're louder than street pads — expect some squeal, especially when cold. Rotor wear is slightly faster than street pads due to the more aggressive compound. For a car that sees regular track days, these are the best compromise between street and race. For street-only driving, the Hawk HPS 5.0 is a better daily driver.
