Brakes
Your brakes are the most important safety system on the car, and if you're adding power, you need to add stopping ability too. Stock brakes are designed for a stock car — once you start making more power and driving harder, they can overheat and 'fade' (get soft and ineffective). Brake upgrades range from simple pad swaps to complete big brake kits with massive rotors and multi-piston calipers.
Rotors
Brake rotors are the metal discs that the brake pads squeeze to slow the car. Performance rotors use drilling, slotting, or both to improve heat dissipation and gas venting. They're a direct replacement for stock rotors — same size, same bolt pattern — but they handle heat better during spirited driving.
