Every realistically upgradeable system on a 2022 Dodge Challenger, organised by the canonical component model. Click a component to add its products from the planner at /build/v2.
Engine
Internal combustion engine and bolt-on subsystems
Air Intake Path
Smoother, less restricted airflow lets the engine breathe better. Most beginner builds start here — it's cheap, audible, and visible.
Air Filter Element
engine.air-intake-path.air-filter-elementHigh-flow elements (cotton, dry foam) flow more air than paper at the same level of filtration.
Tradeoff: Oiled cotton elements need cleaning and re-oiling — over-oiling can foul the MAF sensor.

engine.air-intake-path.cold-air-intakeEasiest, most-visible engine upgrade. Frees 10-20 horsepower with a louder intake roar.
Tradeoff: Many filter elements need oiling/cleaning every 30k miles. Some kits trip a CEL until paired with a tune.

engine.air-intake-path.throttle-bodyA larger bore (87mm or 90mm vs stock 80mm) lets the engine inhale more air at full throttle.
Tradeoff: Needs a tune to take advantage of the increased airflow. Without tuning, you may notice a less responsive low-end.

engine.air-intake-path.intake-manifoldLong-runner manifolds boost mid-range torque; short-runner designs prefer top-end power. Pairs well with a cam swap.
Tradeoff: Significant labor — the manifold sits under the throttle body and needs a tune. Some designs require trimming the strut tower bar.

engine.air-intake-path.oil-catch-canDirect-injected HEMIs deposit carbon on intake valves over time. A catch can dramatically slows that buildup.
Tradeoff: Needs to be drained every oil change. Won't reverse existing valve carbon.

Cooling
Keeps engine and transmission temperatures in safe operating range. Becomes critical the moment you add power or drive on a track.
