What Does This Do?
If you have an automatic Challenger, the torque converter is what connects your engine to the transmission (think of it as the automatic version of a clutch). A higher stall speed means the converter lets the engine rev higher before transferring power to the transmission — this puts you in the powerband for harder launches. Benefits: dramatically improved launches, better throttle response, and the billet construction handles high-power builds. The 3200 RPM stall is aggressive enough for modified engines but not so high that it makes the car undriveable. Trade-offs: slightly higher RPM at highway cruise (roughly 200-300 RPM higher), increased transmission fluid heat (consider an aftermarket trans cooler), and the car will feel different at low speed — less 'creep' at stoplights and lazy response below 2000 RPM until you learn to drive it. This is NOT a bolt-on — the transmission must be removed. Budget $800-1,200 for professional installation.
