Why Install This?
Benefits
- Eliminates the spongy feel of rubber brake lines under hard braking
- Stainless steel lines give a firmer, more consistent pedal
- Easy bolt-on installation — most people can do this in their driveway with basic tools
What Does This Do?
Brake fluid transmits the force from your brake pedal to the calipers. Under extreme heat (track driving, mountain descents), standard DOT 3/4 fluid can boil — when it boils, you get air bubbles in the line, and the pedal goes to the floor with no stopping power. This is called brake fade and it's terrifying. Motul RBF 600 has a dry boiling point of 594°F vs roughly 450°F for standard DOT 4 fluid. Benefits: eliminates heat-induced brake fade, essential for track days and spirited mountain driving. DOT 4 compatible so it works in your stock system. Trade-offs: high-performance brake fluid absorbs moisture faster than standard fluid, which lowers the boiling point over time. You should flush and replace it every 12 months (vs 2-3 years for regular fluid). It's also more expensive per liter. For a car that never sees a track or hard mountain driving, standard brake fluid is perfectly fine.
