Why Install This?
Benefits
- Reduces body roll in corners for flatter, more confident handling
- One of the most underrated handling upgrades
- Moderate install — doable in a home garage with some mechanical experience
What Does This Do?
Sway bars (also called anti-roll bars) connect the left and right sides of the suspension. When you turn, the outside of the car wants to dip down — sway bars resist this motion, keeping the car flatter through corners. Benefits: up to 40% reduction in body roll, the front/rear bar balance lets you adjust handling characteristics (stiffer front = more understeer/safer, stiffer rear = more rotation/sportier), and the hollow tube construction keeps weight reasonable. Trade-offs: stiffer sway bars transfer more road imperfections from one side to the other — you'll feel bumps in the passenger seat more. Very stiff bars on rough roads can cause the inside tire to lift, reducing grip. The anti-roll kit is a great mod for canyon roads and track days, but on smooth highways you won't notice much difference. Installing the front bar on the Challenger requires some patience due to the tight engine bay.
