What Does This Do?
Your engine needs air to make power — the more cold, dense air it can breathe, the more power it produces. A cold air intake replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a high-flow filter and a tube that draws cooler air from outside the engine bay. The K&N Typhoon uses a washable, reusable cotton filter — you never buy replacements, just clean and re-oil it every 50,000 miles. The heat shield blocks hot engine air from reaching the filter. Benefits: easy 12+ HP gain, great throttle response, and a satisfying intake sound under acceleration. Trade-offs: the oiled filter can occasionally contaminate the MAF sensor if over-oiled (causing rough idle), and the open design may slightly increase intake noise at idle. This is the #1 first mod for most Challenger owners because it's cheap, easy, and you'll actually feel the difference.
